Where Will Shiftee Sleep Tonight?

Friday, January 23, 2009

Shiftee had a grand ol’ time in Poland competing at the IDA 2008 World Finals where he took second in the technical category.  And as Shiftee shows DBM Labs in his most recent YouTube post sometimes you just gotta up and leave to follow your dreams.  The music comes first and planning for cross-country travel is overrated.  But then again, with a big name like Shiftee, couldn’t he just sleep anywhere?   He’s welcome to crash at my place anytime.

Congratulations to DJ Shiftee for taking home 2nd place (Technical Category) at the Reebok 2008 IDA World Finals in Warsaw, Poland. The competition was tough as the top DJ’s from around the world were invited to compete for some pretty awesome gear. Notice any other awesome gear in the video?

History Lesson: I’m pretty new to the DJ scene, but have always been a fan so here’s a little background of the competition. For those that don’t know what IDA is (or maybe it’s just me), it stands for the International DJ’s Association. It was created by DJ’s around the world to promote turntablism, the usage of a gramophone as a musical instrument. That’s cool, but where’s the association to promote DBM Labs?
